Teaching terms and conditions

PRIVATE GUITAR LESSONS

Fees

From September 2012 the private lesson rates will be as follows:

Half hour: £20
45 mins: £30
1 hour: £39

5 weeks (half term) payable in advance.

Cancellations

Advance notice would be appreciated whenever possible if the student is unable to attend a lesson for ANY reason (illness, appointments, interviews etc). I will then endeavour to reallocate the lesson time if it is reasonably feasible. However, no refunds are made where this is not possible.

Cancellations from my side.

Please understand that I earn my living as a musician and live performances can sometimes be booked at very short notice. This is a rare occurance, performances are usually booked weeks or months in advance and notice given accordingly. However, occasionally bookings come in on the day (such as cover or session work) therefore I must reserve the right to cancel lessons at up to three hours notice. The lesson fee of course will not be charged.

I trust that you find these terms reasonable but please feel free to discuss.

SCHOOL TEACHING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Fees are payable in advance within two weeks of term lesson start.

If lessons are to be discontinued, half a term’s notice will be required IN WRITING in the first two weeks of the half term or half a term’s fees will be charged in lieu. This includes the interim between summer and autumn terms.

Advance notice would be appreciated whenever possible if your child is going to be absent from school for ANY reason (illness, appointments, interviews etc). The teacher will then endeavour to reallocate the lesson time if it is reasonably feasible. However, no refunds are made where this is not possible.

Lessons cancelled due to absence on the part of the teacher will be made up at a later date. Should it prove impractical to do so, the appropriate fees will be refunded, or credited to the following term’s account.

It is essential that a child should have access to an instrument for practice during the week. Practice for the coming lesson will be outlined in the teaching material or notebook. Parents will be requested to confirm the amount of practice undertaken.

Please ensure that your child brings in instrument and music books on the relevant days.
